Danté Jackson, a former McClain Tiger standout, is on the cover of the 2010-11 Xavier Media Guide for the NCAA basketball season.
Jackson is the first player profiled in this season's guide and has been listed as one of the 16 "Most Versatile Players in College Basketball" by ESPN.com.
Also on the cover with Jackson are seniors Andrew Taylor (15) and Jamel McLean (22).
Jackson was named to the preseason Atlantic 10 Conference All-Defensive team.
The XU senior has started in 57 games for Xavier, including the 68-65 season opening win against Western Michigan this past Friday in Cincinnati.
Against Western Michigan, Jackson scored 17 points (his 14th double-digit scoring game of his career), including four 3-pointers and a perfect 3-of-3 performance from the free-throw line.
The Musketeers have reached the Sweet 16 for three straight seasons, going to the Elite 8 in Jackson's freshman season, losing to the UCLA Bruins.
While at McClain, Jackson finished as the Tigers' all-time leading scorer with 2,423 points. He also led the school in rebounds (1,014), assists (502) and steals (312). In his four years at McClain, Jackson and the Tigers were 85-12 and he was first team All-Ohio three times.
