    The Hillsboro KFC Girls Strikers soccer team completed its 2010 season among the Elite Eight in the state of Ohio. The Strikers advanced to the state SAY Tournament on Nov. 20 at Little Miami High School. They won their first game in double overtime, then lost in another double-overtime contest.

    The Baseball Writers Association of America have selected Cincinnati Reds first baseman Joey Votto as the National League's Most Valuable Player in 2010. Votto received 31 of the 32 first-place votes cast by the writers to outdistance St. Louis' Albert Pujols (279 votes) and Colorado's Carlos Gonzalez (240 votes).
