Whiteoak softball season comes to a close in district semifinals

The 2026 No. 9 seeded Whiteoak Lady Wildcats’ softball season ended on Monday (May 18) as they were defeated by the No. 1 seeded Portsmouth Notre Dame Lady Titans by an 18-0 score at Wellston High School in the Division VII SE District semifinals. 

The Lady Titans of Notre Dame began their scoring with nine runs in the bottom of the first inning, followed by a five-run second inning for a 14-run advantage. 

Notre Dame added one run in the bottom of the third and three runs in the fourth inning. 

Whiteoak ended the game with one hit and six errors, while NDHS had 14 hits and one error. 

Madison Davidson ended the game with Whiteoak’s lone hit, as she was 1-for-2. 

Kyra Boyd pitched for Whiteoak, as the senior pitched four innings where she allowed four earned runs with one strikeout. 

For Notre Dame, Kate Entler was 3-for-3 with two runs. Bella Rush and Audrey Bach each finished with two hits for Notre Dame. Rush was 2-for-2 with three runs, two RBI and two walks with a triple.

Bach was 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI and a double. Jaysa Bryant and Maycee Ford each had a double for the Lady Titans. 

Notre Dame improves to an overall record of 23-4, as they advance to the district final game on Thursday, May 21 vs. No. 4 seeded Portsmouth Clay at Wellston High School with a 4 p.m. start. 

Whiteoak ends the season at 3-18 overall. Seniors for WHS are Kyra Boyd, Madison Davidson and Matti Conrad.
