Whiteoak defeats Peebles for SHAC victory

The Whiteoak Wildcats baseball team earned a home win in Southern Hills Athletic Conference play on Thursday (April 10) defeating the Peebles Indians, 3-2.
Whiteoak’s victory saw them strike first with a run in the bottom of the first, but they trailed 2-1 after the top of the fourth as the Indians scored two runs in the inning.
WHS gained the win with two runs crossing home plate in the bottom of the fifth. Whiteoak totaled five hits in the winning effort, and they committed one error. Peebles finished the game with one hit and one error, as their lone hit was off the bat of Colyn Sims.
The Wildcats had Jacen Applegate finish 2-for-2 with two RBI, as one of his hits was a double. Applegate was also hit by a pitch.
Jonah Michael finished 2-for-2 with two runs, one RBI, a walk, and he totaled three steals.
Zander Roades went 1-for-3 with a double. Caden Butler scored a run for Whiteoak. Abraham Flader forced a walk in the WHS win.
Roades was also the winning pitcher, going all seven innings, allowing two runs (none earned) on one hit and no walks with 15 strikeouts.
WHS now stands at 2-3 overall and 2-1 in the SHAC.
