BOYS SOCCER

Whiteoak nets 6 goals in loss to New Boston; falls to Northwest 

Playing in a high-scoring non-conference game on Thursday (Aug. 21), the Whiteoak Wildcats lost to the Glenwood New Boston Tigers by a 7-6 score, as the two teams combined for 13 goals. 

Whiteoak had two players finish the game with two goals each, as Abe Flader and Lucas Pollard each scored two goals in the home contest. Scoring one goal apiece were Jaden Fitzgerald and Christopher Wessner. Pollard also had an assist in the game. 

At goal for WHS were Chancellor Lister with five saves and Evan Richmond with seven saves. 

On Monday, Aug. 25 at home, the Whiteoak Wildcats lost to the Northwest Mohawks (McDermott) by a 7-2 score. 

Whiteoak had one goal each from Fitzgerald and Pollard, as both goals were unassisted. 

The two losses move Whiteoak to an overall record of 0-3-0.

Mustangs gain big win over Ironton St. Joseph 

Saturday (Aug. 23) was a big non-conference win for the Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs, as they defended their home field and defeated visiting Ironton St. Joseph by a 6-5 score. 

Elam Faust finished with a hat trick by scoring three goals in the win. Also with a hat trick was Quin Wells, as he too had a three-goal performance for the Mustangs. 

Assists were credited to Levi Fields, Mason Fisher (two) and Sam Turner. 

At goal for LCHS was Tanner Roberts with 12 saves.

Lions fall to North Adams

It was a tough evening for the Fairfield Lions on Monday (Aug. 25), with the North Adams Green Devils playing host to FHS and defeating the Lions by a 9-0 score. 

North Adams had four goals from Preston Call and two goals by Tristan Young. Also with goals were Beau Hesler, Dylan Mullenix and Ian Raines. Jayden Reckers had two assists, and Young also had two assists. Also for North Adams, Hesler, Mullenix and Breven Sheangsgang had one assist. 

NAHS keeper Thad Moore finished with one save.

GIRLS SOCCER

Fairfield defeated by Miami Trace; win against North Adams

In two recent games the Fairfield Lady Lions won in SHAC play, but lost a non-conference contest. 

On Thursday, Aug. 21, the Lady Lions lost by a 2-0 score to the FAC’s Miami Trace Lady Panthers at MTHS. 

Fairfield keeper Meri Jackson totaled eight saves. 

Against North Adams on Monday, Aug. 25, the Lady Lions defeated their SHAC rival by a 4-0 score at NAHS.

FHS had three goals — a hat trick — from Vivian Henninger, while also scoring a goal was Ava Hooper. Emerson Zink was credited with an assist. 

At goal for the Lady Lions was Meri Jackson with four saves. 

FHS is now 3-1 overall this season.

GIRLS SOCCER 

Lady Mustangs shut out by Marietta 

Playing a very strong Marietta team the Lynchburg-Clay Lady Mustangs lost by an 8-0 score in non-conference play on Saturday (Aug. 23) at LCHS. 

LCHS had one shot by Lily Layne, and at goal for the Lady Mustangs, keeper Caitlyn Collins finished with 15 saves.
