Highland County boasts 43 athlete selections, 4 Coaches of the Year on 2024 fall All-SHAC teams
The Southern Hills Athletic Conference announced Tuesday the 2024 All-SHAC teams for the fall season, with Highland County having 43 players and four coaches honored.
The All-SHAC Girls Soccer Team included 10 players and a coach from Highland County, with Lynchburg-Clay’s Dennis West honored as Coach of the Year.
Lynchburg-Clay and Fairfield each had five selections, combining for half of the All-SHAC team. LC honorees are Addie Downing, Aubrey Slack, Miranda Smith, Olivia Van Fleet and Allie Waits. Fairfield’s All-SHAC selections are Hannah Hamilton, Vivian Henninger, Ava Hooper, Rilee Quickle and Landry Teeters.
Also named to the All-SHAC Girls Soccer Team were Lainee Barr, Peebles; Ava Brumley, Peebles; Lilly Carlier, Fayetteville; Makena Corbin, Eastern; Raylan Eldridge, North Adams; Vivian Grimes, Eastern; Tatum Grooms, North Adams; Ryley Kleemeyer, Fayetteville; Grace Taylor, Ripley; and Amberlynn Whitaker, Eastern.
The Player of the Year will be named at the SHAC Fall Sports Banquet.

Nine individuals from Highland County were recognized for boys soccer, including Lynchburg-Clay’s Jason West being named Coach of the Year.
LC also had four players named to the All-SHAC team: Noah Bitzer, Jay Cordrey, Isaac Eyre and Braedon West.
Fairfield and Whiteoak each had two All-SHAC players, with Zane Matthews and Logan McIntosh selected for Fairfield and Abe Flader and Tyler Wessner recognized for Whiteoak.
Also named to the All-SHAC team were Hayden Browning, Peebles; Connor Gross, Peebles; Beau Hesler, North Adams; Owen Kirk, Ripley; Ryder Luncan, Fayetteville; Cameron McCann, North Adams; Brylee Mills, West Union; Trystyn Perkins, Eastern; Jayce Rothwell, North Adams; Blake Rugenstein, Fayetteville; and Noah Shuemake, Eastern.
The Player of the Year will be named at the SHAC Fall Sports Banquet.

For boys cross-country, Highland County had eight total honorees. Whiteoak senior Landen Eyre was named Runner of the Year, and Lynchburg-Clay’s Todd Faust earned Coach of the Year honors for the Mustangs’ first-place team finish.
LC has four All-SHAC runners in Kyler Fite, Asher Faust, Wyatt Osborn and Tavion Huguely.
Along with Landen Eyre, Whiteoak’s Keegan Eyre was named All-SHAC. Fairfield also had one All-SHAC runner in Ryan Smith.
Also named to the All-SHAC Boys Cross-Country Team were Dalton Day, Eastern; Ryan Butcher-Raines, Manchester; Braylan Roberts, Manchester; Eli Crabtree, Manchester; Braylon Scarbrough, Ripley; Kayne Dotson, Eastern; Dalton Pence, North Adams; and Grady Myers, Peebles.

Eight volleyball players from Highland County were also named to the All-SHAC team.
Fairfield led the way for Highland County with four selections in Mackenzie Anderson, Kelsey Clark, Jobey Hattan and Remi Moon. Lynchburg-Clay had three, including Addy Carraher, Kylie O’Connor and Joslyn Rockey. Rounding out Highland County’s selections was Whiteoak’s Kylee Hamm.
The Coach of the Year is Katie Ragan of North Adams.
Also named to the All-SHAC team were Katelynn Boerger, North Adams; Paige Evans, North Adams; Angel Gray, Peebles; Aulbrea Meade, North Adams; Maya Murphy, Fayetteville; Harlie Polley, Ripley; Natalie Ragan, North Adams; Ashlah Staten, West Union; Victoria Thompson, Fayetteville; and Rylie Young, Manchester.
The Player of the Year will be announced at the SHAC Fall Sports Banquet.

Lynchburg-Clay had five All-SHAC Boys Golf honorees, including the Player of the Year in senior Saxen Wilkin and the Coach of the Year in James Walker.
Also earning All-SHAC honors for LCHS were Nolan Wilkin, Aiden Bene and Braedon West.
The All-SHAC Boys Golf Team includes Parker Hayslip, Manchester; Connor Young, North Adams; Breestin Schweickart, North Adams; Thomas Barnhart, Manchester; AJ Cooper, West Union; Marcus Lynch, Eastern; Tegan Knox, West Union; Calen Vogler, Peebles; Caleb Deatley, North Adams; Sam Griffis, West Union; and Landon McIntosh, West Union.

Four Highland County runners were named to the All-SHAC Girls Cross-Country Team.
Whiteoak had two selections in Addy Hauke and Charli Hauke. Fairfield’s Aylah Humphreys and Lynchburg-Clay’s Lillian Layne were also honored.
The Runner of the Year is Brandy Shular from Eastern, and the Coach of the Year is Donnie McCarty of West Union.
Also named to the All-SHAC Girls Cross-Country Team were: Leotie Carman, Manchester; Ella Shupert, West Union; Sadie Armstrong, West Union; Emma Hurst, Manchester; Kilie Belcher, Eastern; Lydia Armstrong, West Union; Stella Rhonemus, West Union; Madison Leizerowicz, Manchester; Alexis Deffren, Fayetteville; and Emma Crawford, West Union.

Two Highland County girls golfers, both from Fairfield, earned All-SHAC Girls Golf honors in Kelsie Crowder and Emmy Caudill.
Co-Golfer of the Year were Olivia Lewis and Nina McCann, and the Coach of the Year was Marci Nehus, all from West Union.
The All-SHAC Girls Golf Team also includes Emmy Holt, North Adams; Alyssa Smalley, Peebles; Emmy Stapleton, West Union; Annabelle McIntosh, West Union; Eva Demint, West Union; Peyton Hayslip, Manchester; and Brooklyn Mahan, North Adams.
