Girls Basketball Report: Whiteoak wins in consecutive days; Lady Mustangs, Lady Lions drop recent games

Lynchburg-Clay falls to Williamsburg in non-conference contest
Monday evening the Lynchburg-Clay Lady Mustangs dropped a non-conference game to the visiting Williamsburg Lady Wildcats, 54-29 at LCHS.
LCHS trailed early as the scoreboard read 18-7 after the first frame with Williamsburg in the lead. Williamsburg also won the second frame at 9-7 for a halftime score of 27-14 in favor of the Lady Wildcats.
The third frame included Williamsburg scoring 10 points, while Lynchburg-Clay scored nine points, and the fourth quarter saw WHS score 17 points and the Lady Mustangs add six points to their final overall total.
Madison McMullen led LCHS with 13 points, finishing the game with six two-point baskets and one made free throw. Adilyn Carraher totaled nine points in the loss, as she made three 3-pointers.
Lily Ferguson totaled five points with a two-point basket, and she also made three free throws. Savannah Bell finished with two points.
Defensively, Allie Waits and Carraher co-led the Lady Mustangs with six rebounds apiece. Joslyn Rockey led LCHS with four assists, and McMullen was the team leader in steals with four.
As a team, the Lady Mustangs finished with eight two-point baskets, three 3-pointers and they were 4-of-14 from the free-throw line.
The loss sent LCHS to an overall record of 6-10.

Whiteoak takes home SHAC win
Wednesday was a winning time for the Whiteoak Lady Wildcats at Peebles High School, as they defeated the Peebles Lady Indians, 45-43 en route to a Southern Hills Athletic Conference victory.
Whiteoak held a seven-point lead after the first quarter by a 17-10 score. The second quarter went to Peebles, as they outscored the Lady ’Cats 11-8 for a 25-21 halftime score with WHS with the advantage.
WHS won the third quarter at 7-5, taking a 32-26 lead after three frames. WHS fended off a hard-charging Peebles team in the fourth quarter as PHS scored 17 points, and Whiteoak had 13 points, allowing Whiteoak to keep a two-point lead for the SHAC win.
Whiteoak’s leading scorer was Kylee Hamm with 14 points, collecting three two-point baskets, two 3-pointers and she made two shots from the free-throw line.
Addison Roberts totaled nine points with one 3-pointer, two two-point buckets and she went 2-of-2 from the free-throw line.
Addy Hauke totaled six points off two 3-pointers, and also scoring six points was Charli Hauke with a 3-pointer, two-pointer and one free throw. Torie Potts also finished with six points, with two two-point baskets and two free throws.
Scoring four points was Jillian Lucas, coming off four made free throws.
As a team, WHS totaled eight two-point baskets, six 3-pointers and they were 11-of-17 from the free-throw line.
Potts led WHS with eight rebounds, while Hamm and Roberts led Whiteoak with two assists each. Hamm and Potts led WHS with four steals each, and the blocks leader was Potts with two.
The win for WHS improved their overall record to 11-3 overall and 9-1 in the SHAC Division II standings.

Fairfield falls to first-place North Adams
Hosting the North Adams Lady Green Devils on Thursday evening, the Fairfield Lady Lions lost a Southern Hills Athletic Conference game by a 46-37 score.
In the first half, North Adams scored 13 points in the first quarter and 11 points in the second frame, while Fairfield had a nine-point first quarter and 11 points in the second, leaving NAHS with a 24-20 lead.
In the second half, North Adams scored 11 points in the third and 11 more points in the fourth quarter. Fairfield had two points in the third and 15 points in the fourth frame.
Fairfield was led in the scoring column by Rilee Quickle with 19 points, ending the game with six two-point baskets, two 3-pointers, and one free throw.
Meri Jackson totaled six points with two two-point baskets and two free throws. Also with six points was Paisley Stahlhut, finishing the game with a 3-pointer and three free throws.
Scoring two points each for the Lady Lions were Isabelle Hale, Vivian Henninger and Addison Cannon, as each made a two-point basket.
Fairfield’s team totals included 11 two-point baskets, three 3-pointers and six free throws.
North Adams was led in scoring by Tatum Grooms with 14 points.
The loss moved Fairfield to 2-6 in the SHAC Division II standings, with an overall record of 3-11.

Whiteoak wins rivalry game against Lynchburg-Clay
The Whiteoak Lady Wildcats earned their third win of the week, this time defeating Highland County foe, the Lynchburg-Clay Lady Mustangs 38-27 for a Southern Hills Athletic Conference win.
Whiteoak led the Lady Mustangs 11-10 after a competitive first quarter, then the second frame saw WHS outscore LCHS 11-6 for a Whiteoak lead of 22-16.
In the third frame, the Lady ’Cats won the quarter at 5-3, and in the fourth quarter it was Whiteoak scoring 11 points and LCHS scoring eight points.
Whiteoak’s leading scorer was Kylee Hamm with 12 points, finishing the game with five two-point baskets and she was 2-of-4 from the free-throw line.
Also for WHS, Addison Roberts totaled eight points off two two-point field goals and a 4-of-6 performance from the free-throw line.
The Lady ’Cats also had six points from Torie Potts off two two-pointers, and she went 2-of-2 from the free-throw line.
WHS had five points scored by Addy Hauke with a 3-pointer and she was also 2-of-2 in her free-throw attempts.
Jillian Lucas totaled four points by going 4-of-4 from the free-throw line, and Charli Hauke finished with three points off a 3-pointer.
WHS finished with nine two-point baskets, two 3-pointers and they were 14-of-18 from the free-throw line.
Lynchburg-Clay was led in scoring by Adilyn Carraher with nine points, ending the game with their two-point baskets and a 3-pointer.
LCHS had five points each from Allie Waits (one two-pointer, one 3-pointer), Madison McMullen (one two-pointer, 3-of-4 FT line) and Lily Ferguson (two two-pointers, 1-of-2 FT line).
Scoring two points for LCHS was Savannah Bell, and with one point was Joslyn Rockey.
LCHS finished with eight two-point baskets, two 3-pointers, and they were 5-of-8 from the free-throw line.
The Lady ’Cats improved to 10-1 in the SHAC Division II standings (first place) and 12-3 overall. LCHS is now 3-7 in the Division I SHAC standings and 6-11 overall.
