Fairfield Lady Lions win 2026 SHAC Track and Field championship

The Fairfield Lady Lions track and field team were crowned champions of the 2026 Southern Hills Athletic Conference on Tuesday, May 12 at Manchester High School, as they outdueled nine other schools for the title.
The Lady Lions won with a score of 128, and in second place was West Union with a score of 110. In third place was North Adams (98), followed by Fayetteville (74) in fourth place, and Lynchburg-Clay was fifth place at 52 points.
In sixth place was Whiteoak (51), followed by Eastern (34) in seventh place, and in eighth place was Ripley (25). Tied for ninth place were Peebles and Manchester each with 22.5 points.
The boys SHAC championship was won by the North Adams Green Devils with a score of 138. In second place was Peebles (99), and third place went to Manchester at 89. The fourth-place finisher was Eastern at 50 points, and fifth place was Lynchburg-Clay with a score of 50.
The sixth through 10th place finishers were: Whiteoak (45), Fayetteville (37), Fairfield (36), West Union (25) and Ripley (18).
Chanel Captain of Whiteoak won two girls SHAC championships with first-place finishes in the 100-meter dash and 200m dash races.
Fairfield’s girls 4x200m relay team of Madalyn Combs, Landry Teeters, Allyson George and Vivian Henninger also earned a SHC championship. Fairfield’s Meri Jackson won a SHAC championship in the girls shot put event.
Lynchburg-Clay’s Kyler Fite won two SHAC championships in the boys events, winning the 1600m and 3200m runs.
