Hillsboro girls tennis earns 2 more victories

The Hillsboro Lady Indians returned to the tennis courts on Monday and Tuesday evenings after a week-long break due last week being Highland County Fair Week, and the Lady Indians are back to doing what they’ve done all season long … winning matches. 

On Monday (Sept. 8) the Lady Indians won in non-conference play in Chillicothe against the Unioto Lady Shermans, then followed with a win on Tuesday against the Washington Lady Blue Lions in an away Frontier Athletic Conference match. 

During Monday’s 3-2 team win, in first singles for the Lady Indians saw Jenna Hart fall by scores of 4/6, 1/6. In second singles Hillsboro's Adalyn Gaines won by scores of 6/0, 6/1. The third singles match saw Taylor Scruggs of HHS gain the victory by scores of 6/0, 6/4.

In doubles action, Hillsboro’s Ciara Woods and Lilah Hardy lost in first doubles at 0/6, 0/6. HHS won their second doubles match at 6/4, 5/7, 6/4 as the team of Natalie Tharp and Kamrie Lee were the winners. 

On Tuesday, Sept. 9 the Hillsboro team swept the Washington Lady Blue Lions in all five matches, winning 5-0 in the team scoring in FAC play. 

Hillsboro’s Jenna Hart won in first singles at 8/6, 7/5. The second singles match saw Adalyn Gaines win by scores of 6/1, 6/0. The third singles match had Hillsboro’s Natalie Tharp win at 7/5, 6/1.
 
Doubles play saw HHS first singles team of Ciara Woods and Taylor Scruggs gain the win by scores of 6/0, 6/0. In second doubles, Hillsboro’s Kamrie Lee and Lilah Hardy won at 6/0, 6/1.

The two wins improve Hillsboro to an overall record of 8-0.
