Jackson wins 2024 FAC girls golf championship; MHS 4th, HHS 5th
This week the Jackson Ironladies were crowned champions of the 2024 Frontier Athletic Conference girls golf season following an 18-hole event at The Greens of Fayette County.
Jackson totaled a winning score of 404, followed by Miami Trace in second place at 426, and in third place was Washington at 430. Fourth place went to McClain at 432, Hillsboro was fifth at 451 and sixth place went to Chillicothe at 463.
In the final team standings for the entire season Jackson finished a perfect 40-0 in FAC play, and in second was Miami Trace at 30-10 overall. McClain was third place with a record of 18-22 in the FAC, and Chillicothe was fourth place in the final standings at 13-27. Fifth place was Hillsboro with a record in the FAC of 12-28, and Washington finished in sixth place with a conference record of 7-33.
The All-FAC team consisted of: Aubrey Arnold (Jackson) - POY, Faith Wynne (Washington), Kaylin Sterling (McClain), Alayna Hitchcock (Jackson), Emily Reeves (Miami Trace), Cadie Boltenhouse (Chillicothe) and Emma Yochum (Hillsboro).
For McClain, scores in the 18-hole FAC final event included: Kaylin Sterling 95 (49, 46), Hailey Cornett 109 (59, 50), Abbie Lovett 112 (57, 55), Reese Roble 116 (55, 61), Avery Murphy 121 (64, 57) and Emma Marsh 122 (61, 61).
Hillsboro’s scores were Emma Yochum 95 (48, 47), Amani Cumberland 115 (58, 57), Rylea Scarberry 120 (64, 56), Blake Herdman 121 (60, 61), Halle Jones 122 (64, 58) and Addy Knauff 130 (66, 64).
