Lady Mustangs take 3-set win over Georgetown 

Traveling to face the Georgetown Lady G-Men on Monday, the start of the week for the Lynchburg-Clay Lady Mustangs proved to be one of victory, with them defeating the host G-Men in three straight sets. 

Lynchburg-Clay won at Georgetown High School by scores of 25-11, 25-23 and 25-19. 

For the match, Addy Carraher totaled two kills, 18 assists, four aces and two digs. Teammate Halle Greene finished with 13 kills and also had one dig. Matalyn Magee had seven kills in the win, along with two digs and a block. 

Ava McLaughlin ended the match with totals of 20 assists and four digs. Kylie O’Connor had 10 kills, one assist, one ace, and one dig. There was also Joslyn Rockey, who totaled one kill, two aces, and 30 digs. 

Bre Rosselott finished with five kills and a dig. Avery Shope had one ace and 10 digs in the win. Teammate Melany Stephenson collected three kills, two assists, three aces and 13 digs. 

As a team, LCHS totaled 41 kills, 41 assists, 11 aces, 64 digs and one block. 

LCHS improves to 15-5 overall, as they are also 10-2 in the SHAC Division I standings. Georgetown now stands at 3-10 overall and 1-7 in the SBAAC National Division.

Tuesday Oct. 7, 2025 
Fairfield falls to Fayetteville; tied for 1st place in SHAC Div. II standings 

Though the Fairfield Lady Lions lost to the host Fayetteville Lady Rockets in five sets on Tuesday (Oct. 7), the shining light is Fairfield has built a season that kept them tied for first place following the SHAC Div. II loss. 

In the five-set match at Fayetteville High School, the Lady Rockets won set two (25-12), set four (25-21) and set five (15-12) to win the SHAC match. Fairfield won set one (26-24) and set three (25-15). 

The loss sends Fairfield to a 9-3 record in the SHAC Division II standings, and Fayetteville is now also 9-3 in the Div. II SHAC standings (they defeated Whiteoak on Wednesday) as each team has one conference match left on Thursday. If they both win their matches, they will share the SHAC Div. II championship.

Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2025 
Whiteoak hosts Peebles in SHAC match 

The Whiteoak Lady Wildcats hosted the Peebles Lady Indians on Tuesday, Oct. 7 where they lost in three sets to their Southern Hills Athletic Conference counterpart. 

Peebles won the three-set match by scores of 25-23, 25-16 and 25-13.

Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2025 
Lynchburg-Clay dominates West Union in home SHAC match 

Taking just three sets to gain the SHAC victory on Tuesday night, the Lynchburg-Clay Lady Mustangs gained the dominant victory to keep hold of second place in the SHAC Division I standings. 

LCHS won the match by scores of 25-10, 25-9 and 25-18. 

In the match, the Lady Mustangs saw Joslyn Rockey total one kill and 13 digs. Bre Rosselott finished with four kills, one assist, one dig and one block. Avery Shope totaled one kill and eight digs. The Lady Mustangs also had Melany Stephenson finish with three kills, one assist, five aces, and 13 digs. 

Jules Vesey ended the match totaling four aces and four digs. 

Addy Carraher ended the day with one kill and 12 assists, LCHS also saw Halle Greene collect five kills, one ace, and two digs. Matalyn Magee had 13 kills, six digs and two blocks. 

Ava McLaughlin totaled 20 assists, two aces and six digs. Kylie O’Connor had nine kills in the win, along with two aces and 10 digs. 

Team totals for the Lady Mustangs included 37 kills, 34 assists, 14 aces, 63 digs and three blocks.

Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2025 
Whiteoak falls in 3 sets to Fayetteville 

Fayetteville won in three sets on Wednesday evening as they traveled to Highland County and defeated the Whiteoak Lady Wildcats in three sets. 

Fayetteville won the Division II SHAC match by scores of 26-24, 25-22 and 25-16.

Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2025 
Carraher, McLaughlin set career milestones; LCHS defeats Bethel-Tate

In another three-set win, the Lynchburg-Clay Lady Mustangs won for the third time this week, defeating Bethel-Tate. 

LCHS won the non-conference match with scores of 25-22, 25-16 and 25-7 at Lynchburg-Clay High School. 
In the match Addy Carraher collected her 500th career assist, and teammate Ava McLaughlin collected her 500th career dig. 

Carraher finished with seven assists, one ace and two digs. 

McLaughlin ended the contest with 23 assists, two aces, and three digs. 

Matalyn Magee and Halle Greene led LCHS with 11 kills each against BTHS. Magee finished the match with the aforementioned 11 kills, plus one ace and one dig. Greene ended her day with 11 kills, and three digs. 

Kylie O’Connor had totals of eight kills, one ace, and two blocks. 

Jules Vesey finished the match with four aces and nine kills, while teammate Melany Stephenson had one kill, three aces, and three digs. Avery Shope ended the non-conference showdown with seven aces and six digs. 

Bre Rosselott had three kills in the match, while also adding two digs. Joslyn Rockey had three assists, nine aces and 16 digs in the Lady Mustangs’ victory.

Thursday, Oct. 9, 2025 
Lady ‘Cats fall to Clinton-Massie 

The Whiteoak Lady Wildcats lost on the road in a non-conference game on Thursday, falling to the host Clinton-Massie Lady Falcons in three consecutive sets. 

WHS lost by scores of 25-18, 25-14 and 25-16. 

WHS ends the regular season with an overall record of 1-17 and in the SHAC their record this season was 1-12.
