Lady Tigers top Chillicothe

On Wednesday, the McClain Lady Tigers added another Frontier Athletic Conference win to their overall record, defeating the host Chillicothe Lady Cavaliers, 60-11.

The Lady Tigers scored 16 points in the first and then added 19 points in the second for a halftime lead of 35-5, as CHS had four points in the first and one point scored in the second.

In the second half, McClain scored 13 points in the third quarter and 12 points in the fourth quarter.

Paisley Pryor led McClain with 21 points, as she totaled four 3-pointers, three two-point baskets, and she was 3-of-3 from the free-throw line.

Brenna Wright totaled 12 points for MHS, ending the game with four two-pointers and she was 4-of-4 from the free-throw line.

MHS also had six points apiece from Larah Henson, Lindsey Hutchinson and Anna Eikenberry. Henson made three two-point baskets, Hutchinson sank three 3-pointers, and Wright made two two-point baskets and went 2-of-2 from the free-throw line.

Scoring three points was Leah Lovett with a basket and one made free throw. Also with three points was Allie Burgess, as she also made a basket and a free throw. Katie Cook totaled two points, and with one point scored was Brie Cummins.

MHS finished the game with 15 two-point baskets, six 3-pointers and they were 12-of-16 from the free-throw line.

Fairfield falls by 2 points against Westfall

Being on the road for a non-conference game Wednesday evening, the Fairfield Lady Lions battled tough but were just a couple points short, falling to the host Westfall Lady Mustangs, 46-44 at Westfall High School.

Fairfield held a one-point lead after the first quarter came to a close by a 14-13 score, and after Westfall scored 11 points in the second and FHS added eight points, it was Westfall leading 24-22 at halftime.

Westfall outscored Fairfield in the third at 11-7. In the fourth frame, FHS made a comeback effort, winning the frame at 15-11, but fell by two points once the final buzzer sounded.

Rilee Quickle ended the game with 13 points with two 3-pointers (both in the fourth quarter), one two-pointer, and she was 5-of-6 from the free-throw line.

Fairfield also had nine points apiece from Vivian Henninger and Meri Jackson. Henninger totaled three two-point baskets and a 3-pointer, while Jackson totaled three two-pointers and she was 3-of-6 from the free-throw line.

The remainder of the FHS scoring also included Paisley Stahlhut with six points off two 3-pointers, Isabelle Hale with six points, also with two 3-pointers, and Kassi Miller scored one point.
 
For the game, the Lady Lions totaled seven two-point baskets, seven 3-pointers, and they went 9-of-15 from the free-throw line.

Westfall totaled 10 two-point buckets, five 3-pointers, and they were 11-of-18 on their free-throw attempts. Westfall was led in scoring by Adrian Moehl with 15 points.

Lady Mustangs defeat West Union

Thursday night for the Lynchburg-Clay Lady Mustangs saw them gain a Southern Hills Athletic Conference win against the visiting West Union Lady Dragons by a 53-39 score.

The Lady Mustangs led by four points at the end of the first quarter with a 14-10 lead, and following a 16-8 second quarter in favor of LCHS, the host Lady Mustangs held a 30-18 lead at halftime.

In the third quarter WUHS outscored Lynchburg-Clay 10-6, but it was LCHS still in the lead by a 36-28 score. The fourth quarter saw Lynchburg-Clay score 17 points, and West Union had 11 points for the final 53-39 score, a 14-point win for LCHS.

The Lady Mustangs totaled 15 two-point field goals, two 3-pointers and went 17-of-22 from the free-throw line.

LCHS was led in scoring by Lily Ferguson with 21 points, finishing the game with four two-point baskets, one 3-pointers and she was 10-of-11 from the free-throw line.

Joslyn Rockey ended the game with 10 points, ending the game with five two-point baskets. Also with 10 points was Madison McMullen, who had four two-point baskets and was 2-of-5 from the free-throw line.

Also for LCHS, Adilyn Carraher finished with eight points off a two-point basket, a 3-pointer, and she was 3-of-4 from the free-throw line. Allie Waits ended the game with four points, as she had a two-point basket and went 2-for-2 from the free-throw line.

Fairfield gains win over Paint Valley

Hitting the road on Thursday night, the Fairfield Lady Lions defeated the host Paint Valley Lady Bearcats, 45-32 at PVHS.

A 13-point first quarter for Fairfield saw them hold a 13-9 lead after eight minutes. From there, FHS had another 13-point second quarter, while Paint Valley scored six points for a 26-15 FHS lead at halftime.

Next came a 10-4 third quarter, followed by PVHS leading the fourth frame at 13-9.

Rilee Quickle had a big game with 25 points, finishing the non-conference contest with five 3-pointers, two two pointers and she was 6-of-8 from the free-throw line.

FHS also had eight points from Isabelle Hale, who made two 3-pointers and a two-point basket.

Also for the Lady Lions, Meri Jackson had six points with one two-point basket and she was 4-of-4 from the free-throw line.

Vivian Henninger totaled four points with two two-point baskets, and with two points was Kassi Miller.

Team totals for Fairfield included seven two-point buckets, seven 3-pointers, and they were 10-of-12 from the free-throw line.

Paint Valley totaled four two pointers, four 3-pointers, and they were 12-of-16 in their free throw attempts.

Fairfield topples Ripley by 43 points

Hosting the Ripley Lady Blue Jays in a Southern Hills Athletic Conference game on Saturday afternoon, the Fairfield Lady Lions earned the win by defeating RHS, 57-14.

In the convincing win, the Lady Lions started off with a 14-2 first quarter, then followed that with an 18-2 second frame for a 32-4 halftime advantage.

It was more of the same for FHS in the second half with a 17-8 third quarter in favor of the Lady Lions, then in the fourth frame Fairfield won the frame at 8-2 for the 43-point win.

Fairfield was led in the scoring column by Rilee Quickle with 17 points, ending the game with four 3-pointers, two two-point field goals and she was 1-of-2 with her free throw attempts.

Isabelle Hale finished with 12 points, finishing the game with two 3-pointers, two two-point baskets, and she was 2-of-2 from the free-throw line.

Meri Jackson totaled 11 points with five two-pointers and one free throw on one attempt.

Fairfield also had Vivian Henninger with seven points, totaling one two-point basket, and she was 5-of-6 from the free-throw line. Kassi Miller ended with six points, sinking one 3-pointer and was 3-of-4 from the free-throw line. Paisley Stalhlhut and Addison Cannon finished with two points each.

For the game, the Lady Lions totaled 12 two-point baskets, seven 3-pointers, and they were 12-of-15 from the free-throw line.

Ripley totaled four two pointers and were 6-of-12 from the free-throw line.
