Fairfield Lady Lions dominate for 8-goal tournament win against Piketon

Defending their home field on Wednesday evening, the Fairfield Lady Lions won by an 8-0 score over Piketon in their Division V SE District Quarterfinal match at Fairfield High School.
No. 1 seeded Fairfield won as they led by eight goals in the second half, as they had a hat trick from junior Vivian Henninger with three goals against No. 9 seeded Piketon.
Also with goals for Fairfield were freshman Brya Fauber with two, freshman Landyn Hodson with one goal, senior Ava Hooper with one goal, and also scoring one goal was senior Mya McIntosh.
Fairfield also had assists from Fauber, Henninger, Hooper and senior Rilee Quickle.
For the match, Fairfield had 24 shots, with 21 shots on goal.
At keeper for Fairfield was junior Meri Jackson.
The win sends Fairfield to an overall record of 11-6-0. Piketon ends their season at 8-11-0 overall.
Next for the Lady Lions is a Division V SE District semifinal game on Monday, Oct. 20 in Waverly at Raidiger Field against the No. 4 seeded Eastern Lady Warriors at 5:30 p.m. Eastern (8-9-0) defeated No. 5 seeded Minford, 2-1 in two overtimes in their quarterfinal match on Wednesday.
