Fairfield girls golf wins against Eastern; FHS boys fall to West Union

This past Thursday (Aug. 14) the Fairfield boys and girls golf teams competed in matches at Buckeye Hills Country Club. 

In the Lady Lions’ match against Eastern Brown and Lynchburg-Clay (two golfers) it was Fairfield winning with a team score of 248, while Eastern had a score of 288. LCHS with their two golfers had a score of 120. 

Kelsie Crowder was the leading scorer for the Lady Lions with a nine-hole score of 47. Next for FHS was Bristol Williams with a score of 64. 

McKenna Self carded a 67 for Fairfield, while Cameron VanDyke finished with a 70 score, and Eloise Roehm had a score of 73. 

The FHS Lions boys team lost to the West Union Dragons as FHS carded a 182 team score while the Dragons had a score of 170. 

The top effort from Fairfield went to Van Bennington with a score of 43. Next with scores of 46 each were Caleb Barrera and Greyson Abbott 46.

FHS also had scores of 47 from both Pierce Abbott and Titan Crowder, while teammate Keenan White finished with a score of 53.
