Fairfield boys and girls begin 2024 golf seasons
The Fairfield Lions boys varsity golf team won against the East Clinton Astros, 215-220 on Monday, Aug. 5.
Leading the Lions at Snow Hill was match medalist Brody Fauber with a score of 48.
Next, on Tuesday, Aug. 6 the FHS boys golf team traveled to Buttermilk Golf Course to take on Georgetown, as the Lions won by a score of 181-193. Fauber was the match medalist with a score of 40.
On Wednesday, Aug. 7, the Lions varsity boys golf team defeated Whiteoak at Buckeye Hills by a score of 182-203. Once again, Fauber was the match medalist with a 43.
The next match for FHS was on Thursday, Aug. 8 as they played at Buckeye Hills in a tri-match against Clinton-Massie and the McClain Tigers. CMHS won the match with a 155 team score. Next was Fairfield with a 187 score, and McClain carded a score of 245.
CM had the medalist with a score of 34.
As for Fairfield Lady Lions, on Wednesday, Aug. 7 fell to North Adams at Buckeye Hills by a score of 251-217. Emmy Holt of North Adams was the match medalist with a 45.
The following day on Thursday, Aug. 8 the Lady Lions traveled to Hilltop, losing to Manchester by a score of 228-241.
On Monday, Aug. 12, the Lady Lions lost a non-conference match against the Miami Trace Lady Panthers, 204-219, and both teams defeated Washington who scored a 238 in the tri-match.
Washington’s Faith Wynne was the match medalist with a score of 42.
Scores for the Lady Lions included: Kelsie Crowder (48), Emmy Caudill (56), Hadley Weddel (57), Allie Pavey (58), McKinley Cox (58) and Makayla Brown (59).
