Premier Showmen 4-H Club holds demonstration meeting

Members of the Premier Showmen 4-H Club met for their May meeting, which focused on member demonstrations and public speaking activities. 

During the meeting, each member was encouraged to present a demonstration that lasted at least five minutes. Demonstrations gave members the opportunity to teach fellow club members about a topic, skill, hobby, or project they have been working on throughout the year.

Members shared a variety of presentations while practicing important communication and leadership skills. Demonstrations are an important part of 4-H because they help members gain confidence speaking in front of groups, improve organization and presentation abilities, and learn how to clearly explain information to others. 

Some demonstrations from the meeting included, How to make a first aid kit, High Five-How to prevent the spread of germs and bacteria, which came first the chicken or an egg, how to make a tote out of a feed sack, how to fold a bed sheet and how to make the perfect bubble braids. Club members also had the chance to ask questions and learn from one another’s experiences and interests.

The meeting provided a supportive environment where members could strengthen friendships, encourage one another, and continue developing life skills that are valuable both inside and outside of 4-H. Advisors and members appreciated the effort and preparation that went into each presentation and were proud of the confidence shown by participants.

The Premier Showmen 4-H Club looks forward to upcoming summer activities, projects, and events as members continue working toward their 4-H goals for the year.
