Peace Lutheran Church plans Weenie Wednesdays, rummage sale

Submitted by Susan Hillger

The members of Peace Lutheran Church, 321 Harry Sauner Rd., Hillsboro, are continuing their tradition of Weenie Wednesday after the free movies at Star Cinemas. Both youth and adults are invited to enjoy the activities beginning at 11:30 a.m., which will include the meal, simple crafts and face painting.

The other tradition of the rummage sale at the church will be held May 31 and June 1. On June 1, grocery bags of selections will sell for $2 for everything in the bag. The earnings from this sale are divided to be given to area nonprofits.

Peace Lutheran Church has been in existence for 45 years at different locations in Hillsboro, but they are recognized in their present location, 321 Harry Sauner, for their “open doors” for various recovery programs in the community. Those “open doors” were a blessing for the residents and staff of Trustwell Living at Bell Gardens Place during the recent fire at the assisted living facility.
