Local Author Night July 9

The Hillsboro Library is excited to once again celebrate the many talented authors of the region.

“We have so many wonderful storytellers in Highland County and the surrounding areas,” said circulation manager Sarah Davidson. “It’s our pleasure and honor to have a night dedicated to them. Writing a book is no easy feat, and all of these authors have accomplished that.”

Local Author Night is set for July 9 from 5-7 p.m. Currently, the library is hosting 16 authors, though Davidson added that spots are available if anyone else would like to be added to the roster.

“The more the merrier,” Davidson said. “When we first started this event years ago, we had only a handful of authors. It’s been so much fun to watch this event grow – to catch up with returning authors and to meet new authors, too.”

Each author will have their own table where patrons can come and meet them and hear about their writing journeys.
