The Ohio State Fair is one of Ohio’s largest celebrations of agriculture, education, competition and community. For young livestock exhibitors, participating in the fair is an opportunity to demonstrate the hard work and responsibility that go into raising and showing an animal.

The swine competition is an important part of that experience, bringing together exhibitors from across Ohio.

Kalen Juillerat’s participation in the Ohio State Fair swine program represents the dedication required to compete at such a high level. Showing a pig is more than simply bringing an animal into the show ring.

Exhibitors must provide daily care, prepare their animals, learn about livestock production, and develop the skills needed to present their animals properly.

In 2026, the Ohio State Fair livestock competitions were scheduled from July 29 through Aug. 9. The swine events included breeding-gilt shows, boar shows, junior swine activities, showmanship, skillathons and other competitions.
