The Hillsboro Chapter of Modern Woodmen of America partnered with the McClain Cadet Corps on a Matching Funds program for the Cadet Corps.

The students in the Corps sold beef jerky sticks and raised $2,500 and Modern Woodmen matched $2,500, raising the total funds raised to $5,000 to help purchase supplies for the Cadet Corps program.

Financial Representative Dan Mayo said, “Modern Woodmen is pleased to be able to help The McClain Cadet Corps again and support the great work of this amazing program. We are so impressed with the values of this program in teaching these high school students military protocol and community service.

"The Cadets are required to serve a minimum number of hours every year in the community. They also perform in venues like Great American Ballpark for the Cincinnati Reds and will do the military honors at gravesites of our veterans among many other activities in the community. Helping the Cadet Corps is especially meaningful since McClain is Bev’s alma mater."

John W. Wilson, MSgt, USAF (ret) Military Science Instructor, McClain Cadet Corps said this, “Began in 2018, the McClain Cadet Corps provides a curriculum developed to enhance student leadership, service to the community and ceremonial expertise. The Cadets perform nearly 3,000 hours of community service annually using concepts learned in the classroom and honed in actual service scenarios.”

Founded in 1883 as a fraternal benefit society, Modern Woodmen of America offers financial services and fraternal member benefits to individuals and families throughout the United States.
