Cincinnati Bengals to support the Kettering Health Crucial Catch Fund

KETTERING – Risk reduction and regular screening for common cancers are at the heart of the Crucial Catch mission. The Kettering Health Crucial Catch Fund was established in 2023 to support Kettering Health’s efforts in carrying out that mission in the communities the system serves. This football season, Kettering Health and the Cincinnati Bengals are all-in to intercept cancer through a partnership to support the Crucial Catch Fund with donations aiding cancer prevention, early detection and risk reduction.

“The Bengals are proud to be part of Kettering Health’s Intercept Cancer Campaign as we raise awareness and funds with every Bengals’ interception this football season,” said Bengals Director of Strategy and Engagement Elizabeth Blackburn. “The Bengals are committed to health and wellness in our community and believe our collective Crucial Catch efforts with Kettering Health and their Crucial Catch Fund help make a difference. Who Dey Nation will be cheering even harder for our defense this season to help intercept cancer.”

In addition to the Bengals, other team partners will be supporting the Kettering Health Crucial Catch Fund this season, including The Cincy Hat, Prolink, Great Clips and Metablilia. Prolink, a premier workforce solutions organization headquartered in Cincinnati, will donate for every Bengals touchdown, field goal and defensive interception made this season. Other partners will donate through on-site activations at Paycor Stadium on Crucial Catch Sunday, Oct. 6.

• Bengals center Ted Karras’ The Cincy Hat will produce a limited-edition hat, with proceeds going to the Crucial Catch Fund.

• Great Clips will spray-paint hair in Crucial Catch colors for attending fans who make a small donation at the October 6 game.

• Metabilia, a technology-focused memorabilia company, is printing a limited-edition, commemorative ticket for purchase at the Crucial Catch game or online. Additionally, they will auction player-worn memorabilia and game-used items, such as footballs and towels. Proceeds from these sales will be donated to the Crucial Catch Fund.

“Catching cancer early gives patients the best chance for successful treatment,” said Ken Chaij, executive director of Kettering Health’s Oncology service line. “But catching cancer early requires regular screening. We want our communities to know how to screen for the most common cancers and how to reduce their risk, and we want to ensure they have access to world-class cancer services. The Crucial Catch Fund is set up to support these efforts, and there’s no better way to do this than through partnership.”
