    Education, neckties, cowboy boots and spiritual humor

    I do not want to have a necktie party upon my planting. A comfortable pair of old Levi’s will do just fine. Maybe an ND football cap (with the bill down over my eyes) and an Irish sweatshirt, too. You know the one. Better leave me a ball glove just in case there’s baseball in Heaven. (Sure hope I’m not pitching tomorrow.)

    Following the incident, the Fayette County sheriff said the deputy "was not reprimanded for these allegations. I thoroughly reviewed the video and believe he acted within policy." If that's the case, sheriff, with all due respect, you ought to rewrite your policy. The sooner, the better.

    On Friday, May 2, Pam and I celebrated for the third time, as Colin (SSCC class of 2014) joined his sisters, Caitlin (SSCC class of 2006) and Meghan (SSCC class of 2007) as graduates of this outstanding community college.
