A Hillsboro man was sentenced recently to five years in prison after pleading guilty to felonious assault charges.

The Ohio Department of Commerce Division of State Fire Marshal and the Ohio Department of Public Safety Division of EMS awarded the fire service’s high honors this week during the state’s 44th annual Ohio Fire Service Hall of Fame & Fire Awards. The event took place at the Center of Science and Industry (COSI) in downtown Columbus.

Late last week, Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost determined organizers aiming to abolish property taxes had provided a “fair and truthful” summary of their proposed constitutional amendment. The next step is for the state ballot board to determine whether the proposal includes a single constitutional amendment or multiple amendments. The board has ten days to make that determination.

A Hillsboro man was sentenced to community control Friday after pleading guilty to a bill of information charging him with attempted felonious assault.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced Friday the launch of an updated systematic review process for chemicals already in the American food supply.

The high court did not evaluate the case's central issue: Whether the Trump administration can deport people under the Alien Enemies Act of 1798. Justices Samuel Alito and Clarence Thomas dissented. Alito said that no circumstances allowed the Supreme Court to get involved this early in the case.

Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost announced the suspension of his gubernatorial campaign in an email to supporters on Friday.

FBI Director Kash Patel and Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard also weighed in, arguing that the FBI is ready to assist the Secret Service with “all necessary support,” while Gabbard stressed that the administration and the Secret Service are taking the incident “very seriously.” 

“Solar waste will grow exponentially in the next 20 years,” Tao said. “Globally, we produced 20-25 million tons of solar panels in 2023. They will come offline in roughly 20 years. That is 20-25 million tons of solar waste a year in 2045.”
