Sarah Harvey Barrett, 91, of Hamilton, died Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2010 at Golden Years Nursing Center in Hamilton.

The Southern State Community College Board of Trustees opened its Wednesday, Dec. 8 meeting with a moment of silence for former professor Bill Horne, who passed away last week at the age of 70. The college hosted a memorial service for Mr. Horne on Dec. 4.

"Good Apple" behavior winners at St. Mary's for November are Ethan James, Rachel Krusling, and Donald Porter. 73 students earned "good apple" emblems during the month of November. They will enjoy lunch out with Mrs. Stanforth. Congratulations to all the students for great behavior!

Highland County District Library's "Merry Money" stores were open last weekend.  This program encourages children from age 3 to grade 6 to earn "Merry Money" for the books they read and record in their logs.  They can redeem this "money" in the Library Christmas Shop to buy gifts for their family and friends.
