The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Farm Service Agency (FSA) is expanding payment limitation and payment eligibility provisions that affect program payments including allowing for the equitable treatment of business entities.

The Strategic Ohio Council for Higher Education (SOCHE) has recognized three Southern State Community College individuals who have demonstrated excellence in teaching, service, and leadership. Those honored with the 2025-26 SOCHE Excellence Awards include Rainee Angles, Dr. Jeff Montgomery, and Elizabeth Burkard.

The House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform released a staff report today titled, “The Cost of Doing Nothing: How Tim Walz and Keith Ellison Fueled Minnesota’s Fraud Explosion.” The report exposes how senior Minnesota state officials, including Governor Walz and Attorney General Ellison, were aware of widespread taxpayer fraud in federally funded social programs for years, possessed the authority to stop payments and ban fraudulent providers from participating in these programs, but repeatedly failed to act. 

Representatives Dave Taylor (R-OH) and Shomari Figures (D-AL) today introduced a bipartisan House resolution expressing support for the designation of May 31 through June 6, 2026, as “Our Roads, Our Safety Week.”

Organizers of a petition drive to get a proposed constitutional amendment banning property taxes on the ballot this fall need more time to gather the required number of signatures and are pushing the effort instead to 2027, Brian Massie, leader of Abolish Ohio Property Tax, said recently on the organization’s website AxOHTax.com.

The campaign includes mobile billboards around Washington, D.C. during Ocean Week displaying phrases such as "They call it green energy...we call it INDUSTRIALIZING THE OCEAN” and "Thank you President Trump for defending commercial fishermen against offshore wind!" Ocean Week is an annual ocean and Great Lakes policy conference.
