Winter weather strikes again

By
-
CHILLICOTHE - Ohio Department of Transportation crews have been dispatched in Highland and Brown counties tonight to treat the state highway system for snow and ice.

After midnight, roadways were mostly wet and slushy with some light accumulation of snow; however, below-freezing temperatures could result in ice forming quickly, especially on bridges and overpasses. As such, crews will be working during the overnight hours to monitor pavement conditions, applying salt, grit and other materials as needed.

Whether it's raining or snowing, motorists need to exercise additional caution when traveling during inclement weather, remembering that pavement will be slick and conditions can change from minute to minute and mile to mile.
