Winter weather advisory in effect

By
-
A winter weather advisory is in effect until 6 p.m. Sunday for Highland and surrounding counties. Much of the region has received 2-3 inches of snow, with additional accumulations of 1-2 inches possible through Saturday.

Crews from District 9 of the Ohio Department of Transportation have been clearing and treating primary roadways. According to the National Weather Service, today's forecast calls for rain and snow, becoming all snow after 11 a.m. The high will be near 33. Total daytime snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches is possible.

On Sunday, look for cloudy skies, with a high near 34 and a low around 25. There's a chance of snow again on Christmas day for those hoping for a White Christmas.

Road conditions can change from mile to mile and minute by minute, so being a
careful and informed driver is the best way for motorists to travel safely.
Drivers can “know before they go” by logging on to www.BuckeyeTraffic.org,
which  provides up-to-the-minute highway information on road and weather
conditions, road closures, highway patrol accident updates, and traffic
congestion alerts – all available 24-hours a day, seven days a week.[[In-content Ad]]
