Wilmington Post investigating fatal traffic crash on S.R. 133 in Blanchester

Wilmington – On April 23, at approximately 10:11 p.m., an officer with the Wilmington Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol attempted to stop a motorcycle for a traffic violation within the Village of Blanchester in Clinton County. 

The operator of the motorcycle failed to stop and attempted to flee from the officer.

The motorcycle, a 2025 Kawasaki Ninja operated by James Gleason, 27, Beavercreek, attempted to pass a 2023 Ford F-150 operated by Jeffrey Stenersen, 55, Blanchester, on SR 133 (Pansy Pike) while at a high-rate of speed and in a no-passing zone. The pickup truck attempted to turn left on Northview Road and was struck in the driver’s door by the Kawasaki. The Kawasaki then traveled off road and struck a road sign. Gleason was ejected from the motorcycle.

Blanchester EMS and Miami Valley CareFlight responded to the scene , but Gleason was pronounced deceased. Stenersen received minor injuries and was treated at the scene by Blanchester EMS.

The Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Blanchester Police Department, Blanchester / Marion Twp. EMS, and Miami Valley CareFlight.
