Wilmington Post handling fatal motorcycle crash
Wilmington – The Wilmington Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a two-vehicle, fatal traffic crash. The crash occurred on April 24 at approximately 1:22 p.m. on Farmers Road near Murphy Road, in Washington Township, Clinton County.
The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2010 Chrysler Town and County, operated by Orlando Beverly, 71, Wilmington, was attempting to enter Farmers Road from a private drive. A 2003 Yamaha XVS650C, operated by Joshua Pagett, 33, Lynchburg, was traveling southeast on Farmers Road. Mr. Beverly failed to yield from the private drive and was struck by the motorcycle. The motorcycle traveled off the left side of the road and Mr.
Pagett was ejected.
Mr. Beverly suffered minor injuries and was treated on scene by Wilmington Fire and EMS. Mr. Pagett suffered serious, life-threatening injuries, and was transported by air to Miami Valley Hospital, where he later was pronounced deceased. Mr. Beverly was wearing a seat belt. Mr. Pagett was not wearing a helmet.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted on scene by Wilmington Fire and EMS, B & G Automotive, the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office, and the Clinton County Coroner’s Office.
