Wilmington Patrol Post investigates fatal crash
The Wilmington Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is currently investigating a fatal crash on Interstate 71, near milepost 47 in Clinton County.
The crash occurred at approximately 4:08 a.m.
John P. Moss, 53, of Wadsworth, was riding a 2010 Harley Davidson motorcycle on Interstate 71.
The investigation has shown that Mr. Moss was southbound on Interstate 71 and failed to stop, striking the rear of a 2002 Ford van driven by Michael McCleery Jr., 21, of Loveland.

Mr. McCleery’s van was then forced into the rear of a tractor-trailer driven by Raymond Bochicchio, 50, of Evansville, Ind.
Mr. Bochicchio was driving a 2012 Freightliner. Mr. Bochicchio and Mr. McCleery were both stopped in traffic due to an earlier crash in the same area.
Mr. McCleery and his passenger, Austin Dozier, 26, of Laurel, Md., were transported to Clinton Memorial hospital for non-life threatening injuries. Mr. Bochicchio was not injured.
Mr. Moss was air transported to Miami Valley Hospital and was pronounced deceased.
Interstate 71 near milepost 47 was closed for a brief period of time to conduct the investigation. All lanes are open at this time.
The crash remains under investigation at this time by the Wilmington Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
