Utilities committee to review residential water bill
The utilities committee of the Hillsboro City Council will meet Thursday evening to review a city resident's water bill issue.
The committee will meet at 5:15 p.m. in council chambers at the Hillsboro fire station on North East Street. Committee chairperson Dave Shoemaker said he doesn't anticipate the matter will take much time to sort out.
"We're meeting to discuss a residential user's water bill, to see if we want to give an adjustment," Shoemaker said. "(Hillsboro Safety and Service Director Ralph Holt) said that (the city) had given a previous adjustment, and it was kind of a large water bill, and it was not within his power. He wanted additional support, and the committee will review it and recommend to either adjust or not adjust it."
Because it is a personal billing matter, Shoemaker said that the resident will remain anonymous, and the address will not be disclosed.
