Two Loveland residents face theft-related charges

Two Loveland residents were arrested Tuesday, Sept. 4 on felony charges related to an alleged theft at the Hillsboro Wal-Mart.

The Hillsboro Police Department reported that at 3:21 a.m., HPD responded to a shoplifting complaint.

A male subject allegedly pushed a shopping cart from the store with unpaid items valued at $1,410.69.

Information was obtained about a suspect and vehicle. Later, a Highland County sheriff's deputy stopped the vehicle. Investigation by both agencies resulted in the arrests of Billy Johnson II, 26, and Blair Kugele, 26, both of Loveland.

Items from additional thefts were recovered from the vehicle. The value of these items totaled $1,154.32.

Johnson was charged with felony theft. Kugele was charged with complicity, a fifth-degree felony.
