Southern State Community College is currently accepting applications for the 2026-27 Choose Ohio First (COF) Scholarship for eligible students entering the College's Computer Technology program. The application deadline for Fall Semester is August 24.

The Choose Ohio First Scholarship is part of a statewide initiative designed to strengthen Ohio's science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) workforce by supporting students pursuing high-demand careers. Funded through Ohio's state budget with general revenue dollars, the scholarship helps reduce the cost of earning a degree in Computer Technology.

Eligible first-time students in Southern State's Computer Technology curriculum may receive up to $9,445 during the 2026-27 academic year to help cover tuition, general fees, and books. The scholarship does not cover lab fees and is available only for the Fall and Spring semesters. Awards are competitive and are based on eligibility requirements and available funding rather than financial need.
