Serious crash north of Leesburg under investigation

A serious motor-vehicle crash on U.S. 62 north of Leesburg in Fayette County remains under investigation.

A 2010 Ford Focus failed to negotiate a curve just entering Fayette County at approximately 6:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 17. The car traveled off the right side of the roadway a considerable distance before striking a tree.

Leesburg Fire/EMS, Fayette County EMS, Concord Greene Fire Department, the Fayette County Sheriff's Office, Care Flight, and All-Around Towing were called to the scene.

The Fayette County Sheriff's Office is investigating.
