Sandy Free of Frankfort was recognized for 40 years of volunteer service to the Ohio 4-H program at the Ohio 4-H Conference Saturday, March 21 at the Greater Columbus Convention Center.

Since 1902, 4-H volunteers have helped inspire curiosity, build lifelong skills, fuel adventure and grow leaders. Volunteers have the knowledge,  experience, and skills that help develop a ready generation of young people in a world of change.

Ohio 4-H Youth Development is a program of Ohio State University Extension, the outreach arm of the College of Food, Agricultural and Environmental Sciences. In 2025, 196,141 young Ohioans participated in 4-H clubs, groups, and special interest programs. Ohio has over 12,000 active 4-H volunteers.

The Volunteer Tenure recognition was sponsored by Ohio's Electric Cooperatives.
