Ross County OSHP investigates fatal crash near Greenfield

The Ross County Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol has confirmed a fatal motor vehicle accident at approximately 3:20 p.m. Saturday on Route 28 east of Greenfield near Bayless Road.

The accident occurred in Ross County between Greenfield and Lyndon.

It was a one-car MVA with one occupant in the vehicle, according to the Ross County State Highway Patrol dispatch center.

According to the Ross County OSHP, Carmen Boggs, 61, of Greenfield, ran off the right side of the roadway, overcorrected and came back onto the road, then went off the left side of the roadway, striking a tree.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The cause of the accident is not known and is under investigation.

This was the second motor vehicle fatality Saturday along Route 28.
