Republicans welcome Craig Romney at 2012 Highland County Fair

Romney spoke at the Highland County Republican Party booth and met with several fair-goers prior to the livestock sales Friday.

Romney, the youngest son of presidential candidate Mitt Romney, also made it a point to stop by the Highland County TEA Party booth at the fair.

There, he met Bill Dalton and heard an unexpected father-son story.

Highland County resident Bill Dalton, 69, is campaigning for Mitt Romney.

Dalton’s father was a campaign leader 44 years ago for George Romney, Mitt’s father, in his 1968 bid for the Republican presidential nomination.

Craig Romney was fascinated with the multi-generational connection with his grandfather and father and the Dalton family.

Representattives from the Obama re-election campaign also attended the county fair Friday.
