Rep. Peterson applauds Controlling Board approval of funding for historic Washington Auditorium Project

State Representative Bob Peterson (R-Sabina) today announced that the Ohio Controlling Board recently approved the release of $500,000 through the Ohio Facilities Construction Commission for updates at the Historic Washington Auditorium Project located in Fayette County.

“I am excited to see the Historic Washington Theater project moving forward. This is a special place for my family; both my children and I have had the opportunity to perform on stage. The theater has long been a cornerstone of our community and will continue to be one of its crown jewels for generations to come,” said Peterson.

According to documents from the meeting, the local project sponsor, the Washington Court House City School District, plans to use the grant for interior renovations including replastering the main theater area as well as adding new trim at the facility. The project completion date is expected to be June 2027.
