Patton indicted on first-degree aggravated robbery charge

A Hillsboro man has been indicted by a grand jury in Highland County Common Pleas court on a charge of first-degree felony aggravated robbery after he allegedly held up Larry's Party Shop at knifepoint.
Casey Patton, 25, is currently being held at the Highland County Justice Center. He was indicted earlier this week on one charge of aggravated robbery, a felony of the first degree.
He was arraigned June 8 and bond was set at $100,000. Susan Zurface was appointed as his attorney.
A final pretrial has been scheduled for July 12 and a Jury trial has been scheduled for July 28.
According to a report by the Hillsboro Police Department, on April 20, a white male suspect, approximately 6 feet tall and weighing approximately 175 to 200 pounds, entered Larry's Party Shop on Muntz Street and allegedly displayed a large knife and demanded cash and cigarettes. Patton was later arrested in connection with the robbery.
At the time of the indictment, Patton was serving 45 days in the Highland County Justice Center for a parole violation. According to the municipal court website, has had previous appearances on a variety of charges in Hillsboro Municipal Court each year from 2003-11.
