An uptown Hillsboro business that specializes in hard-to-find and one-of-a-kind items for collectors and "thrifters" alike is celebrating its first anniversary on May 1.
Partin's Treasures, situated in the Hillsboro Historical District at 126 South High Street next to The Highland County Press, is owned and operated by Matt and Tina Partin.
Matt Partin said their unique shops' motto is "not all treasures are silver and gold," and that shoppers will find a wide variety of one-of-a-kind collectibles.
"We have people come in who are looking for a specific item to add to their collection," he said. "And we have the casual shopper who just likes to come in and browse."
His wife, Tina, said it's the customers who find something that takes them back to their childhood that are the most touching to her.
"When they're checking out, they'll tell me it's something they had when they were a little girl or boy," she said, "or they remember it as something belonging to their parents or grandparents that was lost years ago."
To celebrate their first anniversary on Friday, May 1, Matt said shoppers can enjoy refreshments and 25 percent off their entire purchase that day. Then customers could spin their "Wheel of Fortune" for a chance to win cash and prizes, he added.
Partin's Treasures is open Tuesday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with sales on Facebook Live Tuesdays and Thursdays when available.
