OSHP investigates fatal crash; information sought on vehicle

The Wilmington Highway Patrol Post is currently investigating a three-vehicle crash that claimed the life of a 64-year-old Reesville, Ohio man this evening.  The crash occurred on U.S. 22, just west of Starbuck Road, at approximately 4:34 p.m.

Meghan K. Ryan, 21, of Seaman, Ohio was traveling west on U.S. 22 in a 2004 Toyota Avalon.  

Jeanette A. Meadows, 52, of Reesville, Ohio was traveling east on U.S. 22 in a 1992 Pontiac Grand Prix.

An unknown, white, four-door vehicle was southbound on Starbuck Road, stopped at a stop sign, heading south.  

The unknown, white, four-door vehicle pulled into the path of Miss Ryan in order to turn left.  

The driver of the Toyota took evasive action to avoid colliding with the unknown white vehicle and went left of center. After going left of center, the Toyota Avalon struck the Pontiac Grand Prix head on.  

The unknown four-door, white vehicle continued east on U.S. 22 without stopping.

Both drivers and the passenger in the Grand Prix were removed by Wilmington Fire/EMS to Clinton Memorial Hospital.  

Mr. Meadows who was the passenger in the Grand Prix was later transported to Miami Valley by Careflight, where he succumbed to injuries sustained from the crash.

Troopers were assisted at the scene by the Clinton County Sheriff’s Department, Wilmington Police Department and Wilmington Fire/Rescue/EMS.

Anyone who may have witnessed this crash or has information about the white car, possibly a newer model Chevrolet Malibu LT or General Motors type vehicle, is asked to call the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Wilmington Post at (937) 382-2551.  

The crash still remains under investigation.
