ODOT treating roadways; urges caution

By
-
ODOT District 9 crews will continue battling tonight's winter storm; however, motorists are advised of the need for extreme caution. Routes throughout most of the area are snow covered, with heavier accumulations and some blowing and drifting snow in the northern part of the district and lighter amounts of snow precipitation and more rain and sleet in the southern area. Crews will continue plowing and treating the state highway system throughout this storm. Although the general public is advised to avoid traveling until the storm has subsided, those who must travel should exercise extreme care, allowing additional time to arrive at their destinations and reducing their speed significantly.
