ODOT continues to treat roadways

Ohio Department of Transportation District 9 crews continue efforts Saturday to clear state and federal highways of snow and ice.
Pavement conditions vary from location to location in the eight- county region, from lightly snow covered to clear, wet and icy. Blowing snow is causing light drifts to form, especially in curves and in low, flat areas. And although drivers are treating routes with salt, grit and calcium chloride, ice could be present or likely to form at any location due to temperatures that are well below freezing.
Crews will be working throughout the day to treat and clear roadways; however, motorists need to drive with extra caution and to allow additional stopping and travel time. Motorists should also take greater care when traveling in curves where snow drifts may be present and on bridges, which have colder surface temperatures and are prone to freezing more quickly.
Motorists are also reminded to give plow truck operators room to work. Their visibility is limited, and trucks travel at speeds well below the posted limit.
