OAR sponsor short sales and foreclosure resource certification
The Ohio Association of REALTORS will sponsor “Short Sales & Foreclosure Resource Certification (SFR),” 9 a.m. - 4 p.m., Aug. 25 at the Ohio
Association of REALTORS, 200 East Town St., Columbus.
This one-day course is designed to help you evaluate all available options for distressed homeowners and identify the components of an effective short
sale package.
The course focuses on understanding why homeowners are in default; defining the options; contents of the short sale package; differentiating judicial
foreclosure from nonjudicial foreclosure; the foreclosure process; working with the listing agent; facilitating counseling sessions for buyers of
foreclosed properties; and, recognizing the signs of mortgage fraud and predatory lending.
Alec Hagerty, ABR, ABRM, CRB, Lehman Johnson Realty, Elyria, will instruct the course.
The course has been approved for six hours of real estate continuing education credit.  Additionally, the course serves as an elective for the ABR (Accredited Buyer Representative) designation and is required to obtain the new Short Sales Foreclosure Resource designation of the National
Association of REALTORS (NAR).
