No election results change in official primary count

The Highland County Board of Elections conducted the official count of the March 6 primary on Tuesday morning, with no election results changing. 

Highland County Board of Elections Director Debbie Craycraft said that board members Kay Ayres, Steve Hunter, Dinah Phillips and Andy West met for approximately two hours Tuesday morning to conduct the official count.

 "We had nothing that changed as a result of the count," Craycraft said. 

 The use of electronic voting machines has led to more accurate initial counts on election day, resulting in fewer changes in the official count, Craycraft said. 

It took approximately two hours to conduct the official count, according to the board office.
