McClain Symphonic Choir to perform at New Vienna Community Church

The Greenfield McClain Symphonic Choir will perform at the New Vienna Community Church, 412 West Street in New Vienna on Sunday, Nov. 13 at 7 p.m.
In 2005, Loretta Flora established the Greenfield McClain Symphonic Choir. The choir has grown to include about 50 members. It is a scheduled class, and the members of the Symphonic Choir work hard, practicing 50 minutes a day perfecting their program in preparation of the concert programs presented throughout the surrounding communities.
"We are so blessed to have an administration and school board at Greenfield which allows us to sing Christian music because so many schools are not permitted to sing of Christ and His love," Flora said.
A graduate of Washington High School, Flora obtained her bachelor's degree in music from Milligan College in Tennessee and her master's degree in education from East Tennessee University. She taught at Miami Trace and Washington before accepting the teaching position 13 years ago at Greenfield McClain.
Flora attributes her love for music and her teaching ability to her parents, the late Glen and Christine Jette, who were always so supportive of everything she did throughout her entire life. The director went on to say, "They were great Christians and were loved by all who knew them. My mother instilled the love of music in me at an early age. She was a great musician; she directed church choirs and helped me greatly in my pursuit of my music degree. My father was an amazing man who also enjoyed singing."
