Ohio-Kentucky-Indiana Regional Council of Governments (OKI) Executive Director Mark Policinski has published a new book, "Castooli County to DC: Monster Hunt."

According to a news release about the book, "Evil sets the edge in 'Castooli County to DC.' Written by a seasoned political mind, it shows evil is worst when embodied in individuals held in the highest regard by a fawning public.

"Its fast-moving pages are filled with a terrifying menace that stalks, captures and kills its targets. 'Castooli County to DC' entwines evil around two different worlds. One is the hard life of Capitol Hill, where Joe Hickcock, top aide to the next president of the United States, is dogged by an evil that is with him every day and whom he knows excruciating well. He faces no greater threat than the person who wants him and many of his colleagues out of the way, permanently.

"The other world is a bucolic county in Michigan. Sheriff Arthur Bract must confront and solve a most hideous murder in the quiet community."  

Policinski has been the OKI executive director since November 2003. Prior to starting with OKI, Mr. Policinski held senior level positions in the private sector, including chief executive officer of the Brown Publishing Company and vice president of The CoStar Group.

Before moving to Cincinnati, Policinski worked in Washington D.C. as a senior economist for The Joint Economic Committee on Capitol Hill where he was an adviser to members of Congress regarding economic matters. His work on incentive-based changes in the tax code helped usher in a major shift in the economic policy of the United States.

He also served as the associate deputy secretary with the U.S. Department of Commerce under President Ronald Reagan. In this position, he was a senior manager of the U.S. Department of Commerce’s $2 billion budget and 35,000 employees.

Mr. Policinski has served as vice-chairman of the Board and chairman of Financial Affairs Committee on the Board of Trustees at Wilmington College. He currently serves on the Ohio Governor’s 21st Century Transportation Task Force.

He is a graduate of Indiana University where he earned a bachelor of science in education with concentrations in political science and economics. Policinski also earned a master's in economics from Western Kentucky University.
