Man leads police, sheriff, OSHP on high-speed chase from Hillsboro to Washington C.H.

An adult male suspect reportedly is in custody after a high-speed chase early Sunday morning.
The Hillsboro Police Department did not immediately identify the suspect, who was observed driving erratically at 3:35 a.m. Nov. 20 on North High Street and Springlake Avenue. HPD said the driver was a "local, adult male."
Police attempted to stop the driver; however, he proceeded to take Route 138 toward Greenfield at a high rate of speed. The Highland County Sheriff's Office was called to assist.
According to the HPD, the suspect crashed once at the intersection of Route 138 and Bridges Road, but continued toward Leesburg and on U.S. 62 north toward Washington Court House.
The Fayette County Sheriff's Office deployed Stop Sticks two miles west of Washington Court House on Route 62. The driver avoided the Stop Sticks and continued northeast toward Washington Court House.
A second set of Stop Sticks was set up by the FCSO and the Washington City Police Department, along with the Ohio State Highway Patrol. The vehicle became disabled and the suspect fled the scene. Several hours later, he was apprehended by the Fayette County Sheriff's Office, the HPD said.
A spokesperson from the Fayette County Sheriff's Office told The Highland County Press she believes the suspect was taken to the Highland County Justice Center. A spokesperson from the Highland County Justice Center said he had no record of anyone being arrested related to the chase.
Hillsboro Police Chief Nick Thompson said the HPD was interviewing a suspect but no charges have been filed.
