Angela D. (Kessinger) Mitchell, a 1993 graduate of Hillsboro High School, has recently attained her PhD in Operations Research.
Her educational career began at Hillsboro High School where she successfully accomplished near perfect grades in advanced courses. During this time, Angela also participated on the HHS track team as well as other academic groups and activities. After graduating high school, she directly enrolled in Wilmington College in Wilmington, Ohio.
At Wilmington College Angela quickly gained the respect of her professors and peers as she excelled in her studies. Focusing in the area of chemistry, she achieved her bachelor’s degree in 1997.
At this time in her career, she acquired a position with the Proctor and Gamble Company in Cincinnati, Ohio as a Senior Research Chemist. Continuing education was still a priority in her life. After taking some time off for the birth of her son, she enrolled in Thomas Moore College. Angela achieved her Masters Degree in Business Administration in 2001.
In 2002, she was presented with the opportunity to fill a temporary teaching position at Wilmington College. Angela discovered a passion for teaching through this event and has been a professor at the college ever since. She is now the Assistant Professor of Business Administration.
In this position, she has received several awards including Excellence in Teaching Award in 2004, Distinguished Faculty Award from Alumni in 2008, and Southwestern Ohio Council for Education Faculty member.
While teaching a full load of courses at Wilmington, she worked tirelessly on her personal education and achieved her PhD in Operations Research in 2009. Angela plans to continue her teaching career at Wilmington College.
Angela has always pushed herself past the bar and reached for higher goals consistently. Determination and diligence have been key factors in her success as it will be in the future.
Angela is the daughter of Thomas and Jean Kessinger of Hillsboro. She and her son currently reside in Wilmington.[[In-content Ad]]
