Lebanon Post investigating fatal traffic crash
Lebanon – The Lebanon Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a two-vehicle fatal traffic crash that occurred on US 22/SR 3 at Middleboro Road in the Township of Salem.
On June 25, the Warren County Communications Center received a 911 call advising of a serious injury traffic crash on US 22/SR 3 at Middleboro Road in the Township of Salem. Troopers from the Lebanon Highway Patrol Post were dispatched to the scene.
The investigation revealed a 2004 Toyota Camry was traveling northbound on Middleboro Road and a 2012 Dodge Ram 1500 was traveling westbound on US 22/SR 3. The Toyota Camry failed to yield and was struck by the Dodge. The Dodge traveled off the right side of the roadway, re-entered the roadway, and came to a stop in the roadway. The Camry traveled off the left side of the roadway.
The driver of the Camry, Georgia Peck, 86, Blanchester, was transported by Lebanon EMS to TriHealth Bethesda Noth Hospital with serious injuries. The passenger of the Camry, Jerrold Rajewski, 87, Blanchester, was transported by CareFlight to Miami Valley Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. The driver of the Dodge, Jason Sweeney, 46, Blanchester, was transported by Hamilton Township EMS to TriHealth Bethesda Noth Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Troopers were assisted on scene by the Warren County Sheriff’s Department, Salem/Morrow Fire Department, Clinton-Warren Joint Fire District, Hamilton Township Fire Department, Lebanon Fire Department, John’s Towing, and Barrett’s Towning.
The crash remains under investigation, and no charges have been filed at this time.
